In a winged flurry they burst from the ground
The men shouted as the pig flew around
They flew high and low above the tree-tops
They soared and they swooped and made sudden drops.
The proud pig declared, "To think I once stood!"
Fitzbratchet was scared, and held tight as he could.

Then suddenly from behind a near cloud
Flew a large bird and they shouted out loud
Sitting atop the bird's back was an elf,
doing a bit of loud shouting himself
The pig and the bird then collided with force
Next thing that occurred was a sharp change of course

Downward they fell - the unfortunate four
Of airborne travel, they would have no more.
They luckily hit a pile of hay
Arms, wings and legs were all in disarray.
The elf's rattled wits greatly confused him
He pointed at Fitz and then accused him.

Fitzbratchet jumped up and hurried away
He had already lost half of the day.
Soon he was making good progress again
When he was met by a cart and two men.
"You dog, hop aboard," they shouted at him
You must be restored - you look rather thin"

They were quite jolly and eager to share
He found them to be a comical pair.
They gave him too much to eat and to drink
then they all laughed till their faces were pink
They sang a loud song and made such commotion
That soon came along a frightening notion:

"Goblins!" they cried, "are following us!"
"What will we do? No time to discuss!"
"From this forest we must quickly withdraw!"
Fitzbratchet looked, but no Goblins he saw.
The two men then, paired, whipped hard on the reins
The poor dog was scared - the bumps jarred his brains.
