There is such a startling biodiversity on the open space behind my apartment I feel a strange compulsion to document it. There are many interesting insects, animals and birds but the flora seems best suited to my photographic talent.

The flowers are divided into 3 groups, dependent on the height the flowers are typically observed at: on the ground, waist high or higher.

I've identified at least 3 groups of flowering plant types and noted them:

(A): these appear to be legumes - they all have 'bonnet and tongue' shaped flowers and leave pea pods

(B): these flowers grow on narrow leafless stalks and have 6 petals. The flowers die and leave narrow pods that dry out and twist at the end.

(C): these are all thistles with fuzzy 'poof ball' blooms
